Air Zimbabwe is the country's largest passenger carrier. The airline's initial fleet2 Boeing 767-200ERs and 3 Boeing 737s. The B737s operate domestic and regional routes while the two B767s operate mainly long-haul to Europe - London Gatwick, Frankfurt.

The airline operates a large engineering/maintenance base. It has 1400 employees and two subsidiary companies- National Handling Services (Pvt) Ltd, which is specialises in ground handling; and Galileo (Zimbabwe), which provides reservations facilities to Travel agents. It also carries cargo.

Air Zimbabwe offers an excellent in flight service, which includes exquisite menus and an exciting selection of video and audio programmes. In flight entertainment is on the B767 only, where six video and ten audio channels offer a wide selection of the latest international film titles as well as local and international music. Menus include a selection of international and local, traditional dishes. International flights such as those to and from London and Frankfurt serve two meals- dinner and breakfast or lunch and dinner. The airline's wine list boasts a combination of local, South African and international wines, many of which grace international wine shelves.
